An award winning producer with over a decade of
experience in the entertainment industry, Jeff Pakosta has emerged as a leader
in the world of action and adventure sports programming. Much of this is due to
his unique insight into this fast-growing world of fresh content, coupled with
his lifelong love of the genre. It's this keen sensibility, along with
Pakosta's untiring work ethic, that has caught the eye of such networks as Fox
Sports, MTV, Spike TV, ESPN, NBC Sports, FUEL TV and The Fine Living Network.
Though
action sports are his first love, Jeff's creative vision stretches to all
facets of the entertainment industry. Throughout his 18-year career, Jeff has
guided projects in television, feature films, music documentary and live events.
It's this disparate set of credits that reflects Jeff's commitment to creating
projects with style and a "unique point of view." Pakosta puts a
little of himself in everything he does, and it's that personal touch which
separates his work from the rest of the field.
"I
just want to produce projects that I enjoy and let me express a unique point of
view." This mantra is the basis for all of Pakosta's current and future
endeavors.
In 2006, Pakosta
launched his own production company, THROTTLE ENTERTAINMENT. Since then, this entity
has built a movie library of over 20 Extreme Adventure Sports titles with
distribution in over 13 countries worldwide. Throttle's content has been seen
globally on broadcast networks like NBC Sports, Versus, FUEL TV, SpikeTV.com,
EuroSport and Extreme Sports UK and is associated with powerful brands like Red
Bull Energy Drink, BMW and KTM motorcycles. The company's projects are award
winning along with being chosen into film festivals such as X-Dance, Newport Beach and TemeculaValley.
From 2006 - 2007, Pakosta served as General Manager of Entertainment for the clothing brand,
Quiksilver. In this capacity he was responsible for the development of original
content for the company as well as forging new business opportunities between
traditional Hollywood
and the Quiksilver brand of action sports assets. He
executive produced a half-hour surf special based around the Quiksilver Big Wave
Invitational event and was also responsible for developing a co-branded
marketing campaign along with 20th Century Fox and their blockbuster movie,
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Prior to
this, Pakosta was the Director and Supervising Producer for The Fine Living
Network's hit TV show, "Radical Sabbatical." In this role he oversaw and
directed a 15 episode series that documented the lives of ordinary people who
transform their lives forever. Previous to this, Pakosta was brought on by Fox
Sports Network to produce the critically acclaimed daily Action Sports show
entitled, "5-4-3-2-1." In this role he wrote, directed and produced over 100 reality
and lifestyle segments.
Pakosta
began his career with positions at ICM Talent Agency, Universal Studios New
Media, Jon Peters Company and 20th Century Fox Television before moving on to
produce television shows for MTV, VH-1 and Nickelodeon with celebrities like
Mariah Carey, Usher, Zach Galifinakis and Nick Cannon. He was also one of the
first team members hired by Stephen Spielberg and Ron Howard when they formed their
internet venture POP.com back in the year 2000.
